Most of us own clothes that do not quite work for us, and have no affordable way to find out what would. A colourist is expensive, and a shop will only ever suggest something new to buy.
Hrushimanju is being built to look at your colouring and your wardrobe together, and tell you which of the things you already have suit you, for a meeting, a date or a function.
Where it stands today
There is no public product yet. This page collects nothing: no forms, no sign-ups, no photos, no cookies and no trackers.
The work so far is research and groundwork: how colour should be measured under real lighting, how a recommendation should be ranked, and the privacy and legal foundations that have to be in place before anyone is asked for a photo.
How we are building it
- Matching leads. The core of the product is working out what goes with what you own. Reading your colouring is a supporting signal, shown with honest confidence, and you can always override it.
- Honest about limits. We test before we claim. Where our testing does not yet cover a range of skin tones, the product will say so plainly rather than guess.
- No body measurements. It answers “does this suit you”, not “will this fit you”. It will not ask for your size, shape or weight.
- Privacy before photos. A photo of your face is sensitive personal data. The privacy policy and data-protection assessment will be reviewed by a qualified person before the product asks for one.
Volunteer to test
We are looking for people to help us test Hrushimanju when it is ready: people of every skin tone, and especially deeper skin tones, where our testing is thinnest, and people who wear a wide range of clothes. Cosplayers and anyone curious about fashion design are very welcome too.
Please do not send photos or personal details. We will not ask for a photo until the privacy policy and data-protection assessment have been reviewed by a qualified person, and we will tell you exactly what happens to it first.
Email us to register your interest. Your email comes to us directly and is used only to talk to you about testing; ask and we will delete it.
The walls we hit
Reading colour from a photo has been much harder than we expected, and we are publishing the evidence: fourteen experiments, most of which failed, and why that is pushing us towards controlled lighting.
The end game. Designing your own outfit in the software, for cosplayers and people learning fashion design who do not want to hire a designer, and one day a realistic version of yourself for a game. The hurdle is high, and our experiments show how high and how we plan to clear it.
